The reversal of typical weather patterns...

I know, I know…it has been a while. Ok, maybe a little more than a while. But since you are all such loving people I know you will forgive me just this once J

I thought that in February it would be appropriate to dust off the “pages” of this blog with a post about weather. If you know me at all you know that cold weather is not something I am too fond of or used to. If you don’t know me, then this is your first insight into who I am…

I am from Tennessee, which gets cold weather but normally only for a few weeks between December and January, and then it warms back up again. This is not the case in parts of Europe where you are approximately as far north as Canada in N. America. Here (being Prague) it gets cold at the beginning of October and normally stays that way until late April. Not exactly something I enjoy….

BUT that is why I am writing this post. This year a strange phenomenon seems to be happening that I quite enjoy. Here in Prague we have been having unusually warm days and back home they have been experiencing unusually cold weather.

For example, the southeast United States got blasted with snow not too long ago and entire cities shut down for a whole week-I don’t think it had so much do with the snow as it did with southerners lack of ability to drive and function when there is precipitation on the ground J

While the southeast has been having snow we here in Prague have been having days with 50 degree weather where we can walk outside without our winter jackets and open our windows in the afternoon….in January and February! Just yesterday I was out in the city center in just a fleece for a jacket…

Now I know what you are thinking....it is going to get cold here again while those in the south get warm weather starting in March and you are probably right. But right now I don’t even care because the sun is shining and I had the window open earlier…

Until next time…
