Spend a Saturday watching Upward Basketball.
That’s it. No, seriously. It is.
A couple of weeks ago, myself along with a couple of the other elementary teachers at CISP went to watch a day full of child sized basketball.
I think that seeing the surprised looks on the faces of the 10 or so students from CISP who play Upward made the whole day worth it. They were all smiles and I love it…
We began the day with the younger kiddos who play what more looks like clump basketball than anything else. I was fully reminded of the days when my parents faithfully came out every Saturday to watch me play clump soccer. I can imagine how excited they were when we finally learned to pass the ball. J We cheered the kiddos on nonetheless and chatted with them during the short breaks.
As the day progressed we began to see more organized basketball and even got to move into a bigger gym! It seems that as they get older they can manage a bigger court and they also learn how to pass the ball just like I did while playing soccer!
We watched a full 4 hours worth of basketball and for those of you who might know about my love-and knowledge- of basketball will know that that was 4 hours more of basketball than I had watched in probably just as many years.
Like I said before, seeing their cute, surprised faces made the whole day worth it.
